What Can I do?

Regular Maintenance

  • inspect your filters once a month then clean/replace as necessary
  • for your A/C cover your outside unit from the long harsh winter
  • keep things clear of your heating, hrv(heat recovery ventilator) or fireplace exhaust/intake vents

What's included in a maintenance?

Furnace

  • clean fan and burner compartments
  • test electrical components
  • test safety components
  • check fan belts, oil motors
  • inspect gas lines and venting for leaks
  • advise on filter maintenance

Air Conditioning

  • clean condensor
  • test electrical components
  • test refrigerant levels
  • check fan belts, oil motors
  • advise on filter maintenance

Why is regular maintenance required?

Just like maintaining your vehicle a properly maintained system will run better

  • reduce energy cost
  • reduce equipment breakdown
  • ensure safe equipment operation

What should I check before I call ACES HEATING & COOLING?

Heating

  1. is thermostat on heat mode and set point above room temperature? (don't laugh it happens)
  2. go to electrical panel is your fuse OK or your breaker tripped?
  3. you also have an emergency switch somewhere between your breaker panel and furnace is it in on position? ( usually looks like light switch and is either in furnace room sometimes up high or at the bottom of your basement stairs
  4. gas furnaces- go to outside of home, are your intake and exhaust vents clear and unobstructed
  5. pull out your furnace filter and clean or replace if needed
  6. go to furnace switch or breaker panel and reset furnace by turning the power off and then back on

COOLING

  1. is thermostat on cool mode and set point below room temperature?(don't laugh it happens)
  2. go to electrical panel is your furnace fuse OK or breaker tripped? Is your A/C fuse or breaker
  3. you also have an emergency switch somewhere between your breaker panel and furnace is it in on position? usually looks like light switch and is either in furnace room sometime up high or at the bottom of your basement stairs
  4. pull out your furnace filter and clean or replace if needed if severely plugged and ice on refrigerant lines allow for 24hr for ice to melt expect some water around furnace.
  5. go outside check electrical disconnect beside outside unit in on.( usually right beside unit mounted on house grey metal box)
  6. go back to electrical panel and reset both furnace and a/c breakers or screw and unscrew fuses
